This past week at Drupalcon DC, I participated in a panel discussion about providing Drupal training organized by Sean Effel of Drupaltherapy.com fame.  While the session was not videotaped, Josh Miller has provided a "bootleg" audio recording on his site as part of this Josh Miller Minute series. Thanks, Sean, for the invite and the great work in convening a panel representing diverse perspectives.  In this post, I will attempt to summarize the philosophy, goals and specific focus of our training program at Advantage Labs (Minneapolis, MN) as I discussed at the session.

The Advantage Labs team is back in the office after another great DrupalCon!  Thanks for another well-run conference to support and highlight the rapidly growing Drupalsphere!

One highlight from last week was our presentation on Drupal as a GeoCMS.   We were sad that the team from Chicago Technology Cooperative were unable to attend, and wish Bec a speedy recovery. We were also looking forward to showing some of our progress on the Geo and Geocode modules, and grateful we still had the opportunity to do so.

As it turns out, the Drupal community was very excited as well.  We unveiled our progress to a full house and received a lot of positive feedback and encouragement.  We've been operating in relative obscurity, and it's such a treat to have someone come up and shake your hand, thanking you for the progress and the presentation. The Twin Cities has a lively Drupal community!

Advantage Labs is proud to be an ongoing sponsor for this group's monthly meetings.  Attendance is free, and we generally meet on the 4th Wednesday evening of the month.  It's a great time to swing by our offices, have some refreshments on us, and do some learning and networking with other Twin Cities Drupal professionals.
